Broken-Hearted Knight Errant
As a young man I silently swore to pursue a life that would be worthy of a biography. Boy, was that naive -- after all, many biographies aren't even worthy of being read!
In the meantime, Gentle Reader, here's a site where together we can pause, reflect, reckon, and dream. It's an open diary of sorts of one soul's weaning away from radical fantasms ... of gleaning what (if any) of them is worth preserving ... and of his measured education in contemporary American conservatism. In other words, it's a site -- in a dangerous world -- where we may dare once again.
The seed of Jeremayakovka springs from the three personality-engines from whom it draws its name:
* prophet Jeremiah
* poet Vladimir Mayakovsky, and
* novelist & diarist Franz Kafka
Why these men? Did any of them enjoy wealth? No. Power? No. Love? Well, not exactly.... What they "enjoyed" was fidelity to their visions -- dystopian or utopian: of G-d, of revolution, of art. Each sensed them to the core (in their own cores) and bore them (were born by them) to extremes.
Stick around Jeremayakovka and together we will pause, reflect, and reckon, together we will dream and -- yes, once again -- dare.
(Cynical) critics be damned.

DEDICATION: This blog is dedicated to all the people, living and dead, who've believed in me along the way, whose trust I am only just beginning to honor. ("Along the way" includes during those awful, in-between years when no longer and not yet did I believe in anything.) As for the ones who've withdrawn their belief, this blog is - to put it politely - not dedicated.
